Massive GTA 6 gameplay video leak depicts male and female playable character

One of the most anticipated video games ever might be Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto instalment, and a fresh alleged leak might give us our best look yet at GTA 6. The data hoard, which PCGamer found via a GTAForums post by the suspected hacker themself, has over 90 videos of game footage, some of which had debug code and interfaces running to support the accusations.

It’s interesting to note that the hacker, known on the GTAForums as “teapotuberhacker,” also claims to be the person behind the recent Uber hack and claims to have obtained the video by breaking into a Rockstar employee’s Slack account, which is the same tactic used in Uber’s significant data breach.

The leaks themselves seem to be either real or really well-crafted fakes that have won over the audience of GTAForums members who were previously highly dubious about them.

Male and female protagonist characters are shown in a number of clips from the leak, which is consistent with prior claims about what to expect in the upcoming game. They also depict gameplay taking place in a fictitious city that is similar to Miami, which is consistent with early speculations about what GTA 6 would add to the franchise.

It’s important to keep in mind that these movies probably feature an earlier release, and there is some evidence that they date from approximately 2017. It would be logical to anticipate development snapshots to come from different builds throughout the years as the game has apparently been in development since 2014 (GTA 5 first launched in 2013).

Rockstar rolled out the GTA 5 and GTA 5 Online credits on its website earlier this month, titling the page “Thank You,” which many interpreted as a sign that it was ending active development on the protracted and significantly expanded fifth instalment in the series to concentrate more intently on the impending sequel.

Take-Two Interactive, who owns Rockstar, has been contacted, but we have not yet received a response. If and when they react, we’ll update this site with further information.
